Serdang - The Opening Ceremony of the UPM Staff Championship (SUSTAF) 2020 was held on 30 August 2020 at the Uniputra Golf Club, Universiti Putra Malaysia which officiated by YBhg. Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student and Alumni Affairs.

The main purpose of this SUSTAF tournament been organized as a medium for UPM staff to compete and show their talents in related sports. Apart from that, this SUSTAF tournament was also held as a talent identification field among UPM staff to be featured to represent UPM in participating in the Sukan Staf Universiti Malaysia (SUKUM) and Sukan Badan Berkanun (SUKANUN).

In 2020, UPM entities have been merged to form 8 combined teams to compete in the SUSTAF 2020 tournament which is named as Team 1, Team 2, Team 3, Team 4, Team 5, Team 6, Team 7 and Team 8.

A total of 7 sporting events will be organize in 2020. Among them are, Mixed Badminton, Golf, Mixed Petanque, Tenpin Bowling, Women's Futsal, Penalty Football and Mixed Volleyball. The organization of the UPM 2020 Staff Sports tournament has been approved by the UPM management considering and in accordance with the SOPs of organizing sports tournaments issued by the Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN).

In the Golf sports match held in conjunction with the Opening Ceremony of the UPM 2020 Staff Sports Championship, the Team 3 represented by Dr. Zailani Khuzaimah and Mohd Faris have topped the tournament with 75 points beating Team 5 in second place and a combination of 7 in third place.
