UPM Sepak Takraw Athletes Gain Bronze for the National Team

Qingdao, China- University Putra Malaysia Sepak Takraw Team (UPM) was selected by the Malaysian Sepak Takraw Association (PSM) to represent Malaysia in the 1st Asian Beach Sepak Takraw Championship The West Coast New Area of ​​Qingdao 2019. The tournament was held in Qingdao, China on July 7-12, 2019.

In this tournament, the national team has won 1 bronze medal for the "Regu" category. The tournament was participated by 12 Sepak Takraw teams such as Thailand, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Iraq and several Sepak Takraw troops in Asian country.

The Malaysian team was led by Mohamad Razizi Midin as Team Manager and Ahmad Sufi Mohamed Hashim as head coach of the team. Meanwhile, the athletes were lined up by UPM Sepak Takraw elite athletes, Muhammad Suhairi Sulaiman, Muhammad Anuar Saadon, Mustaqim Zainordin, Muhammad Danial Baharin, Wan Muhammad Anas Muhaimin and Amir Aizad Mohd Roshanizam.

According to Malaysian Team Manager Mohamad Razizi Midin, the achievement for one bronze medal proved that the national squad was able to compete with other Asian countries despite the preparation for the tournament's participation in a short and limited time.

In addition, he also expressed his appreciation for PSM which has given full confidence to UPM for represent the country in the first ever beach Sepak Takraw Championship.
