Serdang - Sports Center in collaboration with Malaysia Rugby (MR) has organized a Level 1 Rugby Coaching course for 3 days from 11 September 2020 to 13 September 2020. A total of 30 students, most of whom are former national Rugby players, participated in the course held at Universiti Putra Malaysia.

This course is one of the contents of the Training Camp which involve Rugby Sports Excellence Program and managed by the UPM Sports Centre. The course was held during the holiday period during this semester. The main purpose of this course is to provide a medium for athletes to obtain knowledge and certificates recognized by the sports body and it will be one of the added value for athletes after they graduate.

According to Mr. Nor Hisham Ibrahim, Coordinator of Malaysian Rugby Development and Coaching,

" Most of the participants are current athletes and former national rugby athletes. It is quite challenging for instructors to explain the basics of rugby when they themselves are already proficient in the sport ”.

The Sports Center will continue to be committed in catalyzing the development of sports as well as athletes to ensure that athletes get useful added value to carry in the future
